2. The Original Mockups
3. Changes to the Mockups
As part of the larger FIZZOP! brand project, I created the FIZZPOP! website to introduce the brand as well as the fictional universe and the cast of characters that lived within the brand.
The Website
Over the course of two weeks,
I designed the FIZZPOP! website using Cargo with four primary sections: character introductions, a choose-your-own-adventure style “virtual tour” of the fictional universe that FIZZPOP! takes place in, a Wikipedia-esque section dedicated to the brand’s lore, and a merch shop.I used Cargo as a foundation for my site, with HTML coding for the website’s smaller details that Cargo’s base website editor alone didn’t feature, such as the custom cursor and floating navigational menu.
The Original Mockups
I created the first mockup of the FIZZPOP! website in the very early stages of the brand’s concept, during the initial semester-long assignment that I first began FIZZPOP! with. The first mockup featured the original “scratchy” art style that I designed for the brand before my later redesign. After I rebranded, I created a second mockup that I based the Cargo website off of.
Changes to
the Mockups
The changes were extensive, although relatively faithful to the original. The most glaring of changes was swapping out the original image at the top of the page with a full-screen animated video introducing the cast of characters to the viewers.
Among the more drastic changes, I also removed the bottom four buttons under the original “More To Discover” text in favor of keeping with the main four section buttons, to make for a more seamless, easy-to-navigate experience for the user.
